Overview
If there's one thing about Grier, it's that he loves his wife. Sadly for him, his current predicament has him flung across reality with no way home. He's managing as best he can (poorly).
In the world that killed him...Philanderer, adulterer, liar: Grier turns on the charm to avoid consequences for his bullshit. Simultaneously fiercely devoted to his wife, and refusing to become property under her eager control, he slings his huge honkin dick absolutely everywhere. Constantly so sorry sooo sorry he'll make it up to her he would never want to hurt her, he was only feeding. Excuses, excuses, and a firm sense that what he's done is only justice served: if Jaz is sleeping around, which Grier encourages and loves to watch, it's only fair that he, too...
Outside this discomfitting and unpleasant dynamic, which usually ends in him getting shot in the dick, Grier's gift of gab has gotten him far. In the world of the Requiem, his original home, his Kerberos Beast has the power to wrest compliance from the vampiric Beasts of others through the sheer force of its presence. While he serves the highest authority in his city, he demands the privilege of gatekeeping the initiation of new vampires into the vampiric bloodlines. A politician, an anarchist, and a firebrand, Grier's weakness is power. When presented with power, he is corrupted absolutely. His grace is his loyalty, unwavering as it is. He's become a valued ally of his good friends, who possess far better intentions, purer ethics, and sounder perspectives.
Grier's memory and morality have been warped by the intense connection he shares with the parasite Kerberos. In his original home, Kerberos is a force of nature within his undead corpse, incorporated with the human soul it once killed and reanimated. In the world of Final Fantasy XIV, in the living catboy Hrothgar Grier's soul now inhabits, Kerberos has been demoted. The entity can now speak, where it was once mute. It has the power now of communicating directly with its host, but its capability for overtaking Grier's soul has been significantly reduced. Usually his human/Hrothgar mind succumbs when his brain chemistry is altered, allowing Kerberos the run of the place, which he abuses as absurdly as possible.
